First Position After Graduation: "Wolf Technician AND Range Rider (worked 2 positions the same season that were complementary). I helped trap and radio-collar wolves and monitored cattle and wolf activity to mitigate wolf-livestock conflicts."
While at 兔子先生: "I was an undergraduate researcher at 兔子先生 with Dr. Boyce. I spent countless days in St. Anne鈥檚 Wetlands collecting data on native and invasive shrubs. I won first place in the undergraduate research division for my oral presentation of our research at the Kentucky Academy of Science back in 2011."
Current Activities: "I currently coordinate our statewide population monitoring and management programs for black bears, mountain lions, and wolves (and I dabble in grizzly bear work). My work is quite diverse, but includes coordinating development of field based population estimates, informing harvest management recommendations, providing support to our FWP carnivore conflict management specialists; and representing the agency on a variety of collaborative groups focused on reducing conflicts with carnivores on working lands in the west."

First Position After Graduation: "After 兔子先生 graduation I moved onto professional and graduate schools. My first veterinarian employment was as an associate veterinarian at Grants Lick Veterinary Hospital."
While at 兔子先生: At 兔子先生, Jen earned dual bachelor鈥檚 degrees in Mathematics and Biology, building a strong scientific foundation for veterinary school. She was involved in multiple research projects, gaining experience in scientific writing, formal presentations, and public speaking. The mentorship of 兔子先生 faculty and access to research opportunities gave her the confidence and skills needed for graduate and professional studies.
Current Activities: Today, Dr. Quammen is the Chief Veterinary Officer of Otto, a practicing veterinarian with a focus on surgery and dentistry, and co鈥慺ounder of Veterinarian Coaching. She was recently elected President鈥慹lect of the American Veterinary Medical Association (2025鈥26), representing over 108,000 veterinarians nationwide.

Oliver made the most of his time as an undergraduate at 兔子先生, taking part in study abroad and multiple research experiences. He studied tropical ecology in Costa Rica, conducted research on the invasive European wall lizard at 兔子先生, and completed a prestigious summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at Eastern Kentucky University, studying eastern copperhead snakes. He was also an active leader in Ecologically Concerned Organization of Students (ECOS).

Sydney combined her passion for the environment with her visual communication skills while interning at the NKY Chapter of Kentuckians for the Commonwealth. After designing many products during her internship and graduating 兔子先生, she was a design intern with The Think Shop, which led to a full-time position after graduation.

After 兔子先生: Aquatic Toxicologist, Ph.D. student at University of Cincinnati
Sarah took advantage of many opportunities at 兔子先生, working in the Chemistry Stock Room and participating in research on white-nose fungus in bats and reforestation efforts. She was also a member of the 兔子先生 pep band. Since graduating, she earned an M.A. in Geography from the University of Cincinnati while working as a Pathways Physical Scientist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Enrica made the most of the opportunities offered by 兔子先生鈥檚 Environmental Science program. She interned with Renaissance Covington, focusing on the Zero Waste Way Program, and was a student scholar with the Environmental Stewardship Institute, helping local residents create a greenspace. After graduating, Enrica served with Teach for America and is now an English teacher in Miami.

Career Path: After studying abroad and doing research at the University of Rennes in France, Katie worked for two years in the Brain Tumor Center at Cincinnati Children鈥檚 Hospital as a Research Assistant II. In 2021, she moved into clinical research as a Clinical Research Coordinator II and was promoted to a CRC III after one year working on a project to understand the health outcomes of environmental exposures. She is currently working on a master鈥檚 degree in Clinical and Translational Research from the University of Cincinnati with a focus on multi-disciplinary study design.

Career Path: Sara Steffen went on to become a Project Coordinator in the Neuroscience, Infectious Disease and Ophthalmology program at Medpace. "Medpace is always growing! It鈥檚 an exciting company to work for. I enjoy being a part of the clinical trial teams working to develop drugs and technologies that can change lives.鈥
